HTML Reader ("we", "the App") respects and protects the privacy of all users. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. Please read it carefully before using the App. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

Our core commitment: Your content is yours. We can't see it, and we don't want to.

1. What We Do NOT Collect

HTML Reader is a purely local tool designed to maximize your privacy. We do NOT collect:

Your name, email, phone number, or other identifying information
Your location data
Your contacts, photos, or calendar content
The content of HTML / Markdown files you open
Your browsing history or reading preferences
Any device identifiers (IDFA / IDFV) for tracking purposes

2. Local Data Storage

The following data is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to any server:

Documents you import
Reading progress, bookmarks, highlights
App settings (theme, font, size, etc.)
Application cache

You can clear all local data by removing the App in iOS Settings → HTML Reader → Delete App.

3. System Services We Use

The App uses the following iOS system capabilities without sending data off-device:

4. iCloud Sync (if enabled)

If you enable iCloud sync in the App:

Your documents, bookmarks, and settings sync via your Apple ID to iCloud
Data is end-to-end encrypted by Apple — we cannot access your iCloud content
You can disable sync in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → HTML Reader

5. Third-Party Services

The App does NOT integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

HTML documents you open may contain external resources (images, fonts, scripts). These are controlled by the document publisher and unrelated to the App. We recommend enabling Strict Sandbox Mode (if available) when opening files from untrusted sources.

6. Crash Reports

If you have enabled "Share with App Developers" in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple automatically shares anonymized crash data with us. This data does NOT contain personal information or document content — it is used solely to improve app stability.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for all ages and NOT specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Data Security

Because we do not collect any data to our servers, there is no risk of a data breach on our side. Your local data is protected by iOS:

iOS Data Protection (accessible only after device unlock)
App Sandbox (other apps cannot access HTML Reader's data)

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect any personal information, GDPR / CCPA rights of access, correction, and deletion are straightforward:

Delete all data: Remove the App via iOS Settings
Export your data: All your files are visible in the Files App and can be freely exported

10. Policy Changes

If this Policy changes materially, we will notify you in-app and update the "Last Updated" date above. Please revisit this page periodically.
